FG CONDEMNS THE EXECUTION OF THE TWO NIGERIANS IN INDONESIAN OVER DRUG TRAFFICKING

The Nigerian Federal Government has expressed painful disappointment over the execution by firing sqad of two Nigerian, Solomon Chibuike Okafor and Daniel Enemuo by the Government of Indonesia despite all the pleas.
The two Nigerians were executed for drugs offenses at the Island of Nusakambangu in Cilacap, central Jave province with seven others from Indonesian, Netherlands, Brazil and Vietnam.

Ogbole Amedu Ode, spokeman of the foreign affair ministry said, "It reiterates its appeals to all Nigerians to desist from drug trafficking which attracts capital punishment in Indonesia and other countries around the world. The Government will continue to engage Indonesian authorities to negotiate and conclude a prisoner Transfer Agreement that may enable other convicted Nigerians to return to their country to serve prison terms".

However, the Foreign Minister has summoned Indonesian Ambassador to register Nigerians displeasure, and again express the Nigerian Government Plea for clemency on behalf of the other 12 Nigerians on the death row in the country.

The action taken by the Indonesian squad was totally condemned by Nigerian Government; and Nigeria is bitterly annoyed over her two men murdered like an animals.
