THE CHAIRMAN OF INEC POSTPONES ELECTIONS BY SIX WEEKS

Aftermath of shift of polls date of elections, NEDG postponed the presidential debate. At the end of yesterday's whooping hours of meeting between the chairman of Independence National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mr. Attahiru Jega and political parties, state councils in Abuja, the 14 February elections had been extended by six weeks due to security concerns.


Presidential and National assembly elections are to hold on 28, March 2015 while governorship and state assembly are to hold on 11, April 2015. "Security Agencies are not ready for 2015 polls elections", said Attahiru Jega. There are a lot of inconveniences that contribute to the postponement of the elections. According to INEC chairman, Attahiru Jega, "45, 829, 808 PVCs are already collected".
