Buhari sweeps Kogi, wins 60% of total votes

 
General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was announced the winner of the presidential election in Kogi State on Monday morning, PUNCH reports.
Professor Adikwu Michael, State Collation Officer, made the announcement at the state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lokoja in the early hours of this morning.
General Buhari managed to secure 264,851 of the total votes, while Buhari received just 149,987 votes.
The collation, which ended at approximately 4 am this morning, saw Buhari win 15 of the 21 LGAs in the state, including Lokoja, Okene and Adavi.

Of the 1,348,956 registered voters in the state, 476,839 were accredited. Of the votes that had been collated, 439,287 votes were cast, while 17,959 were rejected.
