Supersand Eagles Clinch African Championship Ticket as Libya Withdraws

Nigeria Beach Soccer national team is through to the 2015 African championship finals after Libya announced its withdrawal from the qualifying tournament.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed the development on Monday having being alerted on Libya’s withdrawal.
This means the 2007 and 2009 champions have secured a place in the 2015 Beach Soccer Championship scheduled for Seychelles between 14 April and 19.

“We would have loved to use the fixture against Libya as part of our preparation for the African Beach Soccer Championship. However, there is nothing we can do other than to now start our final camping for the championship proper,” coach of the Super Sand Eagles, Audu Adamu Ejo, said.
The Sand Eagles returned to the country on Monday following a third-place finish at the Power Horse Invitational Tournament in Durban, South Africa. The walloped hosts South Africa 9-3 on Sunday to claim bronze medal.
The Adamu Ejo side were set to continue their build up in Lagos ahead of the first leg qualifier against Libya which was to be played this weekend.
